Hands down one of my favorite movies ever. Period. This movie led to me wanting a wolf for a pet and I ended up with two gorgeous huskies, may they rest in peace.

Watching it as an adult, you can see some of the tiny plot holes, but it’s still about a young girl surviving and pushing onward, being stubborn, resilient, resourceful and courageous. It’s about a girl and her dad and their strong bond, which is so rarely covered in movies. It’s about forming bonds and letting go. And nature. So much of the nature.

I watched it first as a kid of about 11 or 12 and just watched it with my 12 year old daughter, who actually looked away from her phone to watch!! It’s a family movie and a girl/woman movie and a movie for wolf-lovers. Very light on the romance.
